(TAP)– FIPA Invest in Tunisia Agency has just won the AIM Investment Award 2020- Middle East and North Africa, for the projects of Sumitomo electric wiring systems (Europe).
“FIPA is recognised as one of the best investment promotion agencies in attracting sizeable and beneficial investment projects and contributing to the economic development and growth of Tunisia,” explained FIPA Director General Abdelbasset Ghanmi on the occasion.
H added: “We started our journey with Sumitomo in late 2017 in Japan during a lead Generation Programme supported by IFC- the World Bank Group. In late 2019, we have proudly announced the official implementation of Sumitomo in Tunisia with an estimated total of 21 million Euros and a long-term target of 5 thousand new employees.”
Sumitomo- Tunisia (SEWS TN), whose main vocation is to manufacture automotive cable harnesses, will be located in the Monastir Industrial Park (NEOPARK) on a surface area of 5.6 hectares with a covered area of 3.1 hectares. All the plant’s production will be dedicated to export, mainly to Europe for the Peugeot and Citroën car brands.
The FIPA award was announced during the 8th edition of the Annual Investment Meeting, held online on October 20-22, on the theme «Reimagining Economies: The Move Towards a Digital, Sustainable and Resilient Future.»
