Cross-industry sessions forge links to the topics at IFAT Munich
Every industry has long been grappling with issues relating to climate and environmental protection, the circular economy, and resource conservation, in the search for up-to-date organizational, structural, and technical solutions. Accordingly, IFAT Munich, as the world’s largest environmental technology trade fair, is also linked thematically to other industry trade fairs. Messe München encourages discourse with its Cross-Industry Sessions. The new information and discussion format took place this year at OutDoor by ISPO, digitalBAU conference & networking, and ISPO Munich. Taking the construction and, above all, the textile industry as examples, the participants stressed how challenging it can still be to establish functioning cycles for some material and product groups. Water management expert Johannes Lohaus is retiring
Johannes Lohaus, Managing Director of the German Association for Water, Wastewater and Waste (DWA), is retiring at the end of the year. Messe München is sad to say farewell and thanks him most sincerely for his more than three decades of commitment to the evolution of IFAT Munich. As a member of the advisory board, the graduate engineer ensured that the world’s leading trade fair for environmental technology always had its finger on the pulse when it came to water management topics and that new formats and approaches were implemented. He was particularly committed to the next generation – young professionals, trainees and students –, but also women in the water industry.
